THE Legislative Assembly this afternoon passed the Appropriation Act 2016 and its amendments.
18 MPs voted in favour of the Bill.
That is approving the Estimates for the Government of Tonga and to appropriate money to its service for the next 2016/17 financial year.
The total cash appropriation for 2016/2017 financial year is TOP$327.7 million from its proposed National budget of TOP$545.1 million.
The 2016/17 Appropriation Act comes into effect this Friday, July 1st 2016.
