Three female candidates among candidates vying for Tongatapu 4, 6 & 7 by-elections in November

The Electoral Commission has confirmed 13 registered candidates including three females to run for the vacant seats for Tongatapu 4, 6 & 7 constituencies in Parliament.

The three female candidates are Kilisitina Saulala of Tofoa and Dulcie Elaine Tei (Hofoa), wives of former Tongatapu 6 and 7 MPs respectively and Fane Fotu Fituafe of Houma.

No female candidate was registered to run for the Tongatapu 4 MP candidacy.

Here are the list of Candidates;

Tongatapu 4:

1. Mateni Tapueluelu, Houmakelikao
2. Viliami Álamameita Takau, Maúfanga
3. Ísileli Pulu, Fangaloto
4. Toutai Úlupano, Popua
5. Étika Koka, Houmakelikao

There are also five candidates running for Tongatapu 6 by-election and they are

Tongatapu 6:

1. Tahifisi Vehikite, Útulau
2. Sione Talanoa Fifita, Houma
3. Fane Fotu Fituafe, Houma
4. Sepeti Vakameilalo, Houma
5. Dulcie Elaine Tei, Hofoa

For Tongatapu 7 electorate, three candidates have registered to run for the upcoming by-election including

1. Feletiliki Teauímoúnga Faótusia, Haáteiho
2. Paula Piveni Piukala, Háateiho
3. Kilisitina Saulala, Tofoa

The by-election will be held on the 3rd of November,2022.
