The current sitting of the Legislative Assembly, which was opened in January 2015, will be officially closed by a soft closing ceremony on Thursday, 21st May 2015. His Majesty, King Tupou VI has appointed a commission of three Nobles to conduct the soft closing ceremony, in accordance with section 17 of the Legislative Assembly Act. The commissioned Nobles are-
i) HSH Prince Kalaniuvalu
ii) Lord VahaŹ»i
iii)Lord Fakafanua
The Legislative Assembly will be opened again in State opening on Thursday 28 May 2015 by His Majesty, King Tupou VI. The first order of business will be the reply to the message from the throne before discussing the 2015/2016 Budget Estimate.
